NJAA Iraq Ziaraat Giveaway FAQs

1. What is NJAA’s goal for this initiative?

a. To serve our community and to earn Ajur / Sawaab by helping people fulfill Ziaraat to Iraq to visit our Holy personalities.

2. Is this for Iraq only?

a. Yes. InshAllah, we will look to expand to other Ziaraat destinations in the future.

3. Is this program for underprivileged people?

a. No. This program is for ALL New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Connecticut based residents, irrespective of financial status.

4. Can anyone in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, or Connecticut participate?

a. Anyone 18 years or older. Anyone who is an American citizen or Green card holder.

5. What are the eligibility requirements for the +1 guest?

a. Must be a New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania ,or Connecticut resident
b. Must be an American citizen or Green card holder c. Must be 18 years or older at the time of selection unless the guest is a child of the draw winner

6. Must the +1 guest be a relative?

a. No. It can be anyone who fits the above-mentioned eligibility criteria.

7. Can non-shia people participate?

a. Absolutely. This program is for all faiths.

8. What is covered as part of the program?

a. Roundtrip airfare from Newark / New York airports. Visa costs. Iraq hotel, transportation, food for the winner and their +1 guest

9. How do I schedule and coordinate after winning the giveaway?

a. NJAA will introduce the winner to a Tri-State local tour operator we have selected, who will coordinate all details.

10. Can the winner select their own tour operator?

a. No. NJAA has carefully selected tour operators that meet NJAA-specific criteria

11. Can I transfer my winning certificate?

a. No. This cannot be transferred. Should the winner choose not to travel, the giveaway will be offered to the 2nd runner up.

12. When can I travel?

a. Winner has 12 months to complete the Ziaraat.

13. Must the winner and the +1 guest travel together?

a. Yes – both Zaireen must travel on the same itinerary

14. Will the winner receive cash in hand?

a. No. NJAA will make all payments covered in this program directly to the service provider on behalf of the winner.

15. Is the winner eligible for subsequent giveaways?

a. Yes, but not for the next/immediate giveaway.

16. Can the winner extend stay or travel to other destinations?

a. No. Roundtrip airfare from EWR / NYC only and dates outlined by the tour operator are valid. Extension of stay and adding layovers are not permissible.

17. How does the drawing take place?

a. On Eid, the drawing will be triggered via an automated software program randomly selecting a registered application.

18. How will the winner be notified?

a. An email will be sent to the winner along with subsequent steps to coordinate the trip. The winning confirmation number will also be posted on NJAA social media platforms.

19. Will the notification be sent to those who do not win?

a. Yes, an email notification will be sent to all non-winners on the day of Eid-Al-Fitr.

20. Are NJAA members eligible to register for the program?

a. No. NJAA members, their immediate family, parents, and grandparents are not eligible.
